NAME

uunnaammee - Print operating system name

SYNOPSIS

uunnaammee [-aammnnppssrrvv]

DESCRIPTION

The uunnaammee utility writes symbols representing one or more system charac-

teristics to the standard output. The following options are available:

-aa Behave as though all of the options -mmnnrrssvv were specified.

-mm print the machine hardware name.

-nn print the nodename (the nodename may be a name that the system is

known by to a communications network).

-pp print the generic processor type.

-ss print the operating system name.

-rr print the operating system release.

-vv print the operating system version.

If no options are specified, uunnaammee prints the operating system name as if

the -ss option had been specified.

STANDARDS

The uunnaammee utility conforms to IEEE Std 1003.2-1992 (``POSIX.2'').
