NTPTIME(8) BSD System Manager's Manual NTPTIME(8)

NAME

nnttppttiimmee - read kernel time variables

SYNOPSIS

nnttppttiimmee [-cchhrr] [-ee esterror] [-ff frequency] [-mm maxerror] [-oo offset]

[-ss status] [-tt timeconstant]

DESCRIPTION

The nnttppttiimmee utility is useful only with special kernels described in the "A Kernel Model for Precision Timekeeping" page (available as part of the

HTML documentation provided in /usr/share/doc/ntp). It reads and dis-

plays time-related kernel variables using the ggeettttiimmee() and adjtime(2)

system calls if available. A similar display can be obtained using the ntpdc(8) program's kkeerrnniinnffoo command. The following options are available:

-cc Display the execution time of nnttppttiimmee itself.

-ee esterror

Specify estimated error, in microseconds.

-ff frequency

Specify frequency offset, in parts per million.

-hh Display help information.

-ll Specify the leap bits as a code from 0 to 3.

-mm maxerror

Specify max possible errors, in microseconds.

-oo offset

Specify clock offset, in microseconds.

-rr Display Unix and NTP times in raw format.

-ss status

-tt timeconstant

Specify time constant, an integer in the range 0-4.
