NAME

lkbib - search bibliographic databases

SYNOPSIS

llkkbbiibb [ -vv ] [ -iifields ] [ -ppfilename ] [ -ttn ] key...

It is possible to have whitespace between a command line option and its parameter.

DESCRIPTION

llkkbbiibb searches bibliographic databases for references that contain the keys key... and prints any references found on the standard output.

llkkbbiibb will search any databases given by -pp options, and then a default

database. The default database is taken from the RREEFFEERR environment variable if it is set, otherwise it is //uussrr//ddiicctt//ppaappeerrss//IInndd. For each database filename to be searched, if an index filename..ii created by iinnddxxbbiibb(1) exists, then it will be searched instead; each index can cover multiple databases. OOPPTTIIOONNSS

-vv Print the version number.

-ppfilename

Search filename. Multiple -pp options can be used.

-iistring

When searching files for which no index exists, ignore the con-

tents of fields whose names are in string.

-ttn Only require the first n characters of keys to be given. Ini-

tially n is 6. ENVIRONMENT RREEFFEERR Default database. FILES

//uussrr//ddiicctt//ppaappeerrss//IInndd Default database to be used if the RREEFFEERR environ-

ment variable is not set. filename..ii Index files.
