NAME

cchhkkppaasssswwdd - verifies user password against various systems

SYNOPSIS

cchhkkppaasssswwdd [-ii infosystem] [-ll location] [-cc] [name]

DESCRIPTION

cchhkkppaasssswwdd verifies a supplied username and password against NetInfo, file, NIS, or OpenDirectory backends. The options are as follows:

-ii infosystem Specify the system against which to check the password

(default is OpenDirectory). Valid systems: nneettiinnffoo NetInfo database

ffiillee File-based passwords

nniiss NIS/YP authentication ooppeennddiirreeccttoorryy OpenDirectory (Directory Services) authentication

-ll location Specify a location; varies based on info system type:

nneettiinnffoo Domain name or server/tag. ffiillee Filename (default: /etc/passwd). nniiss NIS domainname. ooppeennddiirreeccttoorryy Directory node name.

-cc The supplied password is compared verbatim without first being

crypted. name Username
